Bordeaux - cathédrale

Posted by Veronique (France-and-, Switzerland) on 15 August 2010 in Architecture and Portfolio.

In 1535 and according to an English chronicler: "In the Cathedral of St. Andrew, are the most beautiful and largest organ of all Christendom." Unfortunately due to a succession of more or less effective restoration, the organ pipes are sold and melted down for the army.....Today it's an organ inaugurated in 1982.

Ever so beautiful, and a wonderful processing. - But you cut out the floor, and that is a great pity! I think you would need to do some stiching of more photos to capture such a large room - unless you would use a fisheye lense.

16 Aug 2010 10:54am

@Henrik Herskind: yes....I've cut just after the first step because..........if I had the floor I would have had people heads and this is definitely what I hate the most on my pictures :-))))) I already had to clone off a couple of them ! (and I've just noticed I left 2 more bits on the right) Thanks for your words

GJC from Kyoto (京都), Japan

There is much simplicity and elegance in this old place. Did you get to hear the organ?

It's just that you are SO close to showing us also the floor - but deny us the right anyway. What's wrong with people in churches? They keep the business running. A poor example here.. Aren't you focusing on a "ghost"?

19 Aug 2010 5:41am

@Henrik Herskind: :-))))) nothing wrong with people IN churches but not ON my picture ! Your photo is good with this Jesus opening his arms on the choir and there the heads are welcome !! have a nice day
