Lourdes - 3/10

I'm not Christian but I'm fond of all places which have a deep soul signification and "vibrations". I happen to live close to this place so I went !
I feared ostentatious behaviour and show-off but nothing like this. Dignity, respect and profound faith was what I felt.

The view I had when I arrived. You can see the second and third churches. It's when you get closer that you realise that the main one at the bottom is hidden by the houses

Such a beautiful old place! I know what you mean about expecting something so elaborate to have a haughty air to it and then finding them to be soulful. Even for us non-churchgoers there is something to be found in places like this.

Terrific capture and composition. I love the architecture. The walls are imbued with the deep faith of those who built it and those who have worshiped there through the centuries. I think that the architecture transcends the tradition which created it and for which it exists; however, that does not mean that it is in any way disconnected from that tradition.

Très joli cliché. Je suis athée et pourtant l'art religieux, les églises sont des sujets que j'aime photographier aussi.Ils font partie de notre histoire !
